"MOSAIC MEDITATION SERIES PAINTINGS"

The concept behind the "Mosaic Meditation series" was to create a painting, that in a way, emulates a piano chord transition in visual terms.

It didn't come easy but after trial & error and more failures than success, I managed to create a series of five paintings, titled "Mosaic Meditation series."

The transition between the different colors is subtle and gentle without drama.

After finishing this set of five oil paintings, I observed them with day and artificial light for some time.

At first I didn't know what to make of it, since there was no shape or form for the mind to visualize something or anything at all! There was nothing to compare it to, no hidden images or messages, just colors traveling uninterrupted in gentle successions from their point of origin to the retina and then the mind.

I tried to relate to these images, like I would when observing a landscape or a seascape, where I could imagine being there, or even an abstract painting where my mind would put things together and bring me somewhere.

Here is was different, my mind didn't travel anywhere, neither in the past, the present nor the future.

Only after stepping back from the paintings, to do something else, I found myself redrawn back to them. There was something interesting about these images and eventually, I realized that my mind was at ease while looking at them and that was the whole idea to begin with.
